He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Vogel Peter and children Dr. Todd Peter (Janet) and Lori Marks (Greg) and 6 grandchildren all of Louisville; Casey, Sarah and Brooke Peter and Jackson, Zachary and Connor Marks, sister; Pat Stenftenagel, and brother, Father Martin Peter.
Larry graduated from Tell City High School in 1961. He attended Bellarmine University and Indiana University, majoring in finance. He spent his entire career in the banking industry, retiring from BB & T.
Larry has always been totally devoted to family and friends. He coached his own children in softball, baseball, and basketball. In later years, he loved attending the grandkids sports and often argued with the refs if he called against one of the grandkids.
He enjoyed golf, reading mysteries and traveling, especially trips to Europe with his wife, brother, and friends, and trips to Destin with family.
Larry was a fun and loving guy and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held 3pm to 8 pm Monday at Arch L. Heady & Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road, with funeral services Tuesday at 10 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
