Clifford O. "Bud" Newlen, 81 died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Baptist Health Louisville.

He was a forklift driver for A&P Warehouse and Dixie Warehouse, and a member of Teamster Local 89. He was a long-term member of Evangel World Prayer Center working for several years in the bus ministry and teaching the fourth-grade boys' Sunday School class, a Kentucky Colonel, and a basketball enthusiast.

Mr. Newlen was a native of East Liverpool, OH, the son of Charles and Ruth Pickens Newlen. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mabel; and four brothers, Raymond, Eddie, Charles, Jr., and Buster.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; two daughters, Brenda Tharpe (Randy) and Karen Brooks; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Sarah Johnson; two grandsons, Jason Dailey (Amanda) and Kevin Hazelwood (Jessie), and eight great-grandchildren; as well as stepdaughter Lisa Thompson (Louis), step-grandson, Michael Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Shady Grove Cemetery, Highway 79 in Falls of Rough, KY. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
